Self Portrait #1
Hello! My name's Rosie, and I love everything about photography really. Fashion and beauty photography mostly interest me; along with portraits, landscapes, macro, nature, dramatic lighting, pretty much anything. I most definitely want to incorporate photography into my career someday. My camera goes with me everywhere. I love taking photos of really simple things, but capturing it in a way that will show it's true beauty and make a great photo. For this first self portrait, I wanted to keep it simple. I feel like even though it is a simple photo, it still reflects my style. I set the camera on the windowsill, put it on a timer, and let the natural lighting from outside shine through. The room was fairly dark regardless, so I had to set the ISO to 1600 which I would have preferred a lower ISO. I edited the lighting, curves, coloring, and contrast a bit in Photoshop. That's about it, thanks for reading!

Hi Rosie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to start this self-portrait blog. An elegant image with such a natural feel and beautiful texture of the lace. Great job!
Thank you so much!
Deletevery natural as Dena said, maybe try adding a little bit more fill light to the image next time, especially because of your dark hair, and dark background.
DeleteThis is really good. I love the natural lighting you used and the feel of this picture. =)
ReplyDeleteNice composition and great contrast. I like the texture of the linen
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback

I love that this is in black and white! I like the composition as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI also love that this is in black and white! I love how there seems to be a lot of depth. The lace curtains really add to the photo.
